Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary…

January 5th, 2012

Mary is a special commission which I completed prior to Christmas, this is my first chance to post her… its been a wonderful yet busy Christmas and New Year…

My gorgeous client wanted a rather plain Mary… admittedly
she’s not the prettiest of ladies and quite unfavourable amongst men…
she is however quite a character, straight laced and studious…

Mary wears a plain Regency costume with simple undergarments.
Her hair is worn up in a bun
and shyly she hides behind her spectacles…

Mary is an avid artist…
when she’s not drawing or painting she will have her nose in a book,
and importantly she has a kind heart…

As always all seams are hand~sewn by me.

If you have any enquiries regarding Mary
or any other doll, please do email me…

I can see the beauty in Mary, and the soul within! and what could be more important than having a good heart – Beauty is wonderful but I think a kind heart outweighs beauty! I’m reminded of the Bronte sisters when I look at Mary. You always drape the folds of the skirts so realistically Lisa!xxx

I love the mould you used for Mary’s face – Slightly pinched and pert. She definitely looks knowledgeable and cares more about culture than frivolities. She is absolutely as I ordered – as always!
