Mr Collins…

July 20th, 2011

Mr Collins is sleeping soundly in his favourite chair…
Being a clergyman, he is dressed entirely in black.

Wearing a Regency tailcoat and waistcoat,
both trimmed with tiny buttons…

A once pompous man he has mellowed with age…
and his hair loss adds character to has kindly face…

His breeches are worn below his knees…
trimmed at the sides with tiny buttons

Mr Collins is never without his pocket watch,
or his trusty bible…

Completing his ensemble are black real patent leather shoes
with tiny brass buckles.

Mr.Colins seems to resemble dear Peter Postlethwaite to me, or how I would imagine he could have look in whiskers and britches. Simply lovely!! Such a gentle face but full of character.

  15. Thank You so much Jayne, all of these lovely comments are cheering me up after my disaster on Tuesday…

I was devastated as I was almost finished painting Jayne’s doll and I spun my chair around to sit on but the back of it knocked over my glass, the glass hit Jaynes doll I was working on and knocked her head off her shoulders….. all that work for nothing…. but hey ho… I’ve picked myself up, dusted myself down and started over again!!

Thanks again for your understanding Jayne x

  21. […] With no less than 24 characters made by yours truly… this really has been a most wonderful commission. In the study we find Mr Collins who he has visited Mr Bennett, the proprietor of Brielly House however, because he got rather carried away drinking far too much sherry he has fallen asleep by the fire. You can read more about Mr Collins here… […]
