Welcome one and all…

March 28th, 2010

Firstly, I’d like to say a long overdue Welcome to all of the new followers who have joined us here on my blog, you know who you are… and each and every one of you are very welcome here…!

Dad’s wonderful Tiger…

For the first time in what feels like ages, this past week, I was able to attend Art Class with my Dad.

My Lily…

Having finally completed painting a lily, which I have to tell you I’ve really struggled with and personally I think it shows because as a result is a little ‘stiff’…
{I’m being honest…}
I must be a glutton for punishment because in Art Class, I started painting yet another flower… this time a Tulip
{I’m thinking there’s a patten here…}

Washing colour in, My Tulip…

I’m sharing my tulip with you, along with Dad’s painting which he started the week before… both are in the very early stages and there’s certainly much to be done before they will be finished. Additionally, I’ve also sneaked a completed master piece of Dad’s… “Tiger, Tiger, burning bright, In the forests of the night”.

The early stages of Dad’s newest Painting…

    Good morning – it’s softly raining here, and we surely need it! what a pleasure it is to see and enjoy these paintings Lisa – I think the stamens on your Lily are just perrrfect. I wonder if your dad is painting a scene from James Herriot or perhaps Lorna Doone country – now I’m inspired to do a spot of reading today! TerX

  4. Evening Terry,

    Thank you for your lovely comments out the paintings! Dad’s is of the Lake District… and I think he has captured it perfectly. I will add updates as I am able 🙂

    Sorry for my late reply, we’ve been sanding the stairs and landings all day, actually for the past 3 days 🙁 but at last were starting to see the light 🙂

    Hope you are well?

  6. Dear Eva,

    Thank you for the lovely comments… 🙂

    My Dad worked his entire life in the Advertising industry as a creative artist around 10 years ago he became a creative director… he’s always been very creative, but never actually painting what he longed to paint! Almost a year ago Mum was diagnosed as being terminally ill.. and Dad had to retire as he wanted to care for my Mum full time. Once a week, Dad and I attend art class, with other people who are looking after loved ones, and now Dad is able to paint what he wants to paint, he is constantly challenging himself… whereas I prefer painting flowers 🙂

    Thank you again…
