Look what I received in the post… I could not believe my eyes…
all wrapped up beautifully in red tissue paper…

A most wonderful gift from my most wonderful client, Daniel…
He knew they’re my one weakness….

Such a lovely thought and such a wonderful gift
of not just one or two hearts… but five gorgeous hearts…

I’ve really enjoyed finding homes for them…
I have them absolutely everywhere…

A girl can never have too many hearts… can she… ?
they’re like shoes in that way…

I think, what has touched me most of all is what Daniel wrote in the card that accompanied the hearts…

He said the gift was to say thank you for all of the happiness I had given miniaturists with my dolls over the years…!

A specially commissioned
“Polish Nobleman”
… from the book and movie …
‘With Fire And Sword”

Wearing a typical costume of the 17th Century
I’ve used Swiss cottons which I have hand dyed and sewn
adding fine details such as smocking to his shirt,
while vintage braids and findings embellish his overcoat…

At his waist he carries a Polish Hussar sword,
which was handcrafted by Terence Stringer…
At the other side he carries a leather purse which can just be seen
beneath his over coat…

His collar and hat are both made using real fur
~ vintage of course ~
and in keeping of traditional Polish Hussars
he wears pale yellow leather boots complete with spurs…

This Polish Nobleman is now sold and is on his way to live with his new owner in California, USA. If you are interested in him or another figure please do e-mail me

Wearing a Victorian dress with built in bustle construction…
I’ve used a rich Purple silk for this ensemble
and a hair stripe silk for contrast can be seen in the side seams…

She has a standing collar which was usual for Victorian day dresses
I’ve kept braid trimming to a minimum because during this period
emphasis was on the skirt with its pleats and drapery…

Her hair worn in an up do with tiny delicate ringlets frames her face…
Over she wears a silk hat trimmed with matching ruche ribbon,
a hand dyed feather and tied in a large bow at the side…

Intricate detail of the construction of her bustle drapery can be seen,
a small separate bustle is worn underneath her petticoat…
Sleeves are worn short, cut fitting and shaped just beyond her elbow…

Further detail of her hat can be seen here showing the silk ribbon ruche and a rose… she wears cream gloves and carries a simple purse in her hand completing her ensemble.

Its been a while since I’ve dressed a Victorian lady…
So you can imagine my delight when my client came to me with
not just one request, but an entire list…

Wearing a four tiered bustle dress
my client requested a rich French Navy silk for her ensemble…
and I’ve trimmed it with beautiful black vintage laces and trims…

She wears a silk bonnet trimmed with ruche ribbon
and vintage lace, tied in a large bow at the side…
At her neck she wears a real Swarovski crystal brooch

She carries real leather gloves in her hand…
and over her arm a dainty little draw string bag
completes her ensemble.

Gorgeous Francois has come up trumps again…
he has kindly shared pictures of one of the two cribs I dressed for him showing them in situ in his beautifully decorated nursery…
Wonderful isn’t it… ?

While Francois explains the room isn’t ‘quite’ finished
as it requires wallpaper, flooring and a few more touches…
I think he has an incredible eye for detail…

My gorgeous friend & client Francois wanted to share pictures of some of the dolls I have made for him in their new home…

at Peacock Park for a special event…

and the gorgeous sofa Francois gilded himself…

exhausted after all the preparations has sat down momentarily
to rest her weary limbs and fallen asleep…
