Well, we’ve done it… we have moved… it wasn’t an easy road getting here, but now we are here we can barely believe Marr House is ours.

Our New Life in the Country…

September 14th, 2015

Sold LJR

Change is afoot, we are sold, we are leaving our ‘home sweet home’ to follow our dreams of a new life in the country…

Hall

We have happy memories living here for the past 17+ years, Rebecca was born two days after we moved in, she was 4 weeks early… !

Kitchen 2 LJR

Our kitchen really is the ‘heart’ of our home we’ve had many a celebration in here and lots of conversations around the table…

Kitchen 1 LJR

Hard to believe this was once a dingy hole open to the elements, I can remember my knees buckling putting the oak beam in with Mr. JR…

Living Room LJR

This was the first room we renovated, Mr. JR sanded the original Victorian floorboards, breathing life back into them, I love Mr. JR…

Our Reading Room LJR

Our reading room, this really is my favourite room, its had a dramatic overhaul from what it once was, Mr. JR and I love sitting in here…

Christian's bedroom LJR

Christian’s bedroom… I sanded the drawers, made the headboard, painted the clock and furniture in Farrow & Ball, my one weakness…

Rebecca's bedroom LJR

Rebecca’s bedroom… with beautiful French furniture it truly is a room fit for a Princess, don’t you agree…?

Our Guest Bedroom LJR

Our Guest bedroom has such a cosy feel to it with its crisp white bedding and frills… oh I do love a frill…

Our Master Suite LJR

Our Master Suite, poor Mr. JR renovated our loft single handed, it almost broke him but we love it and we’re thrilled with the results…

Dad & Denby LJR

We are all going to live in the country, Dad and Denby are coming, we are all very excited…

Christian & Rebecca LJR

These two are coming, though Christian is going off to Newcastle Uni, its okay I know he’ll be home most weekends with his dirty washing…

Sophie LJR

And, the naughty one is coming too, I only left the room for two minutes to get matches to light the candles. Ooh its all very exciting…

The Little Snowdrop…

June 12th, 2013

It has taken me almost four months to find the courage to write this post to let all of my lovely followers know my sad news…

My beautiful Mum was finally released from her pain and passed away on Wednesday 27th February at 12.24pm.
Dad and I were with her until the end, by her bedside in the QE Hospital. We are absolutely inconsolable but we take some comfort
from knowing she is no longer suffering.

Mum has left a huge void which shall never be filled, we do not think we shall ever get over her passing, our only hope is that she is with her Mum and Dad who passed away when she was such a young age and who Mum was calling for towards the end.
We are heartbroken and the pain we are feeling is only getting worse… I hope in time we will learn to live with our loss although I know in our hearts we won’t ever get over loosing Mum… I miss her terribly, she was my everything, she was my Best Friend…

ღ ….… Rest in Peace Mum ….… ღ

Mum’s most favourite flower was the delicate Snowdrop hence the poem above which we had printed on an A6 card and had handed out at the Service of ‘Celebration’ of Mums life on Thursday 7th March at South Tyneside Crematorium. The words of the poem mean so much to us as they remind us of Mum… ‘our little snowdrop.’

….… ღ ….…

I would like to take this opportunity to reassure all of my most wonderful clients past, present and future, that I am still working albeit at a slower pace and I am accepting orders and most importantly to thank You all from the bottom of my heart for your patience and continued support… “Thank You.”

As always if you should have any questions or queries not matter how small, please do e~mail me…

The world may never notice if a snowdrop doesn’t bloom
Or even pause to wonder if the petals fall too soon.
But every life whatever forms, or ever comes to be,
Touches the world in some small way for all eternity.
The little one we long for was swiftly here and gone,
But the love that was then planted is a light that still shines on.
And though are arms are empty,
Our hearts know what to do,
by beating out a rhythm
reminding us of you.

September 8th, 2010

… Were just home from two wonderful weeks …
… in the Highlands of Scotland … with its breathtaking views …

….. The view from our terrace … spectacular … hu…? …..
…… Loch Sunart, Ardnamurchan Peninsular ……

… we took a stroll through the woods for an hour …
………………………………………

……….. to reach our breathtaking destination ………..
…….. the secluded Singing-Sands beach ……..

…….. we had the whole beach to ourselves ……..
………… it was magical …………

………….. Christian and Sophie tested the water …………..
…………………………………………

….. and long jumping competitions …..
……… can you guess who won ……….?

…………………. I’ll give you a clue ………………….
………..

… every evening we fed Pine Martens …
….. then sat back and watched their antics in the garden …..

…… and daily we saw a family of deer in the 13 acre garden ……
…………….. the baby still had his spots ……………..

…. Mum saw one of these and it made her day ….
…………

….. we saw lots of Highland Cattle too …..
……. this one was having a bad hair day …….

….. all of the roads in Ardnamurchan are single track …..
……. but there are lots of passing places …….

…… We walked across the sands to Tioram castle ……
……………..

….. standing beside Tioram castle … we heard …..
…… the haunting sound of bagpipes travel across by the winds ……

… and we took a ferry across …
….. to the picture postcard village of Tobermory …..

….. on the isle of Mull, so pretty …..
… did you know Balamory is filmed there …

… while I did this …
…………..

…… I did a lot of this ……

Laughter is Medicine for the Soul………….

July 8th, 2010

I thought I’d share with you a couple of pictures of Christian, taken today in my parents garden.

……………… At first he was a little camera shy ………………

……………………. Avoiding it as best he could …………………….

………………..A.N.D………………..
then came the laughter……………….!!
…This picture makes me smile every time I look at it…

… Someone else who desperately wanted his picture taken …

When Life Gives You Lemons…………..

July 7th, 2010

There’s been a lot of Lemonade making in the Johnson-Richards home at the moment…

Firstly, Sophie has been poorly, again………..!
After a visit to the vet…………….. even though she’s not been in a Kennel and she’s been injected against it, she’s been diagnosed with Kennel Cough……………………….. and its fair to say
she’s feeling rather sorry for herself!!

Then… later that very same day Christian, flew over the handle-bars of a BMX bike… and that little stunt…
{forgive the pun}
…left him with a cracked collar bone……. AND the consultant explained it appears from the foreign body showing on the x-rays he also has a fracture……
{……………Way to Go Christian……………}
Poor Christian, now the tears have gone, all I can say is…
‘Boys will be Boys’………….!

Welcome Friends Old & New…………..

June 29th, 2010

Not only do I want to give my warmest
W.E.L.C.O.M.E
to all of my ‘New Friends’…………..

…………..but I’d like to take this opportunity to say a big
T.H.A.N.K Y.O.U
to my ‘Friends of Old’ for your continued support and wonderful comments…………..!!

Finally, and by no means least……. I thought I’d share with you a picture of my gorgeous son Christian… (13)

Its one of the few ‘recent’ pictures I have of him, because he hates having his picture taken…

{unlike someone else who shall remain nameless………….}

….Anyway, this one was taken while he was sleeping in the back of the car with his ipod on…….
…….”caught ya” bonnie lad……. !!
